Meet the Doctor
Dr. David A. Spriing is a passionate and dedicated doctor who knows all too well what severe pain due to whiplash, sciatica, pinched nerves and bulging disc's feel like. He has overcome these life changing physical conditions and more, all with the natural healing powers of Chiropractic. He will truly use his personal experiences to your advantage.
Dr. David first obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, where he evaluated many for weight gain or loss, as well as for overall health. He views proper nutrition as one very important factor in maintaining one's health. There are five factors, "he says" proper nutrition, exercise, sufficient rest, having a positive mental attitude, and having a properly functioning nervous system. Without these five factors, the body cannot truly be healthy.
He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1999 from Life University in Marietta, GA (Northwest Atlanta). There he underwent another rigorous four years of education as well as completing an intense chiropractic internship. The course of study included: anatomy, physiology, neurology, pathology, embryology, orthopedics, kinesiology, x-ray, diagnosis, biochemistry, microbiology, psychiatry, and more. Over 4,248 total hours of coursework was completed. He then fulfilled the National and State licensing requirements by completing the National Boards (Parts I, II, III and IV), only to return home to Florida and pass it's state exam as well. He also maintains a minimum of 20 classroom hours of continuing education every year.
Following his doctoral education, he worked as a clinic physician at several facilities from Pennsylvania to Florida. They included family chiropractic where he cared for infants (suffering from traumatic birth) to grandparents dealing with a variety of arthritic conditions. He was also the treating physician at two different auto injury rehab clinics in Jacksonville where he cared for those suffering from soft tissue injuries (whiplash) to complex spinal injuries (disc bulges etc...). There, he often co-managed care with other specialty doctors as well as neurologists. Over the years he has provided health-care to the very young and to the more seasoned of adults. His experiences with family neuromusculoskeletal health care, and in treating hundreds with motor vehicle related injuries were the inspiration towards the creation of Spring Chiropractic.
Dr. Spring currently practices full time at the Doctors Inlet clinic from 9:00am to 1:00pm six days per week, and from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He also serves as a part time adjunct faculty member at the Florida Community College at Jacksonville where he teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology to over 100 students per year.
